Split Belt M1 tensioning system provides constant tension and alignment to belt drives. It is a critical component in the Split Belt drive. This is a drop-in replacement for a worn or damaged tensioner.
It may be used to tension other belt drives (from Gates, Continental, etc.) when you have a split frame without a tension adjustment mechanism, such as horizontal dropouts or an eccentric bottom bracket. It also provides an extra layer of defense against belt slip ("skip" or "jump") on systems that run at low tension (Rohloff and many other internally geared hubs).
